Hello Everyone! Welcome To Random Movie Commentary! Please comment on your favorite movies or any movie you just happened to have seen in the past and somewhat liked. To start it all off one of the funniest movies I have seen was made in the 90's and starred John Candy. It was called "Canadian Bacon" and what made it funny was our president(Alan Alda) tries to start a cold war with Canada. Well, the Sherrif in Niagra Falls, NY(John Candy) takes it to the canadians with guns bought from a closed arms manufacturer and uses Guerilla tactics against those darn Canadians. It really is a great movie, you have to go rent it, it really is worth it.

It kills me that we actually had a war with Canada! In real life!
1812, if I remember correctly. (We lost..)
Sounds good, though, Grunt! I'll be sure to sheggidout!

Thats crazy isnt it? I finally saw "War of the Worlds" today. It disappointed me because it didnt follow the original storyline at all. But I still found it to be an ok movie nonetheless.

my friend (who read the book) said that the only way it really applied to the book was that *spoilers* the aliens died from *uber spoilers!!!1!* disease!!!

No, their weapons(the aliens) were the same, and so was the repeated assaults by our military. The crazy guy in the basement was a combination of the insane vicar and the disillusioned former artilleryman. In the book he had to kill the crazy vicar(just like the guy in the basement!). Also, the aliens feeding method is accurately portrayed in the movie, so they had quite a bit in common.

erm, somewhat......i think. So, anyway, I rented and watched"Kingdom of Heaven". It was okay, the fight scenes left a lot to be desired, but the violence was awesome. If you know anything about history, youll notice that 2 crusades are combined and that several pieces of military strategy are very predictable.*spoiler alert*I thought it was funny that three actors from three major movies were in it, You have Legolas, Qui-Gon, and Prof. Lupin all in the same movie, which makes you wonder what the producers were thinking, overall it was ok.

I saw Braveheart for the first time last night, which, I know, makes me a grade-A slagger. Really liked it, though.
Favorite parts were when the Irish join up with the Scottish on the battlefield, and where the hoss-cat dude with red hair says "We didn't get all dressed up for nothin'."
Woo!
