You know what makes me implode on a bun? scholarships. Everyone tells us to get scholarships, but for each scholarship, there's only a one in a million chance that we'll actually win it! Now that's just the sweepstakes scholarships.
What about the competition scholarships? Each year, the scholarship people hold their scholarships and a lot of students work very hard on their entry for the scholarship. Then in the end somebody comes along and beats you with the supardupar-scholarship stick of doom! The thing I hate about competitive scholarships is that even if your entree for it is really good and you worked your butt off and sacrificed your precious time for, the scholarship people only give the scholarship to the 1st prize person! Even if you worked your butt off and sacrificed all your free time for the scholarship, they still don't give you the scholarship and the time has all gone to waste!
I think the should be scholarships where you are guaranteed a prize if you enter something that you spent a lot of time and hard work on. Then the time these poor students sacrifice to get a stupid scholarship will be able to actually win scholarships and go to college!
Knowing how there are only so many scholarships and that the scholarships give out prizes perhaps just once a year to 1-3 people, and considering that most colleges have thousands of students, how did they manage to get to college? Did they get scholarships? NO! There are too few scholarships that only give out money to only a handful of the entire student population. Any of the college students would be lucky to even get 1 or 2 scholarships! You wanna know how these students got into college? BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS ARE EXPLODEE RICH!!!
It is because of the extremely low chances of winning the scholarships that so many college-worthy youth aren't able to go to college! If scholarships would at least guarantee a prize to any entree that students sacrificed precious time for, we wouldn't see so many scholars being deprived of going to college and using their scholarlyness to do something totally awesome for the world(like creating reversible butter). It's just sad when so many students spend so much time and effort on competing for scholarships only to be defeated in the end. When we grow up and have enough money, we ought to start a competitive scholarship where people who enter something that they've at least spent a lot of time and hard work on are guaranteed at least a small scholarship prize for their time and effort.
